THE QUICK ANSWER
Why do lash extensions need refills?
Natural lashes continuously grow and shed. Because each extension is attached to a natural lash, extensions shed naturally too. At Xpert Lashing, Angel evaluates what remains instead of judging the appointment only by the number of days since your last visit.
- Replace shed lashesFill spaces where extensions have naturally shed with the lash cycle.
- Restore balanceFill visible gaps and restore the intended shape of the set.
- Address grow-outRemove or replace grown-out extensions when appropriate.
- Refresh fullnessBring the set back to a polished, balanced finish.
YOUR MAINTENANCE RHYTHM
Is 2 weeks or 3 weeks better for a lash refill?
A 2-week refill can be better if you prefer consistently full lashes, experience faster shedding, wear a fuller style or notice gaps earlier. A 3-week refill may work well when retention is strong and enough properly applied extensions remain. There is no single schedule that fits every client.

REFILL OR FRESH START?
When is it too late for a lash refill?
If too many extensions have shed, the shape is significantly lost or most remaining extensions are very grown out, a new full set may be more appropriate. Compare Xpert Lashing's full-set and pricing options before booking, or text Angel a clear photo if you are unsure.

What causes lash extensions to shed faster?
Your natural lash cycle, oil or skincare around the eyes, inconsistent aftercare, sleeping habits, heat and humidity, and rubbing, pulling or picking can all affect wear. Learn more about lash extension retention and how long lash extensions last.
Should you wash lash extensions between refills?
Yes. Proper cleansing is important. Follow your lash artist's aftercare instructions so makeup, oil and debris do not build up around the lash line.
OUTSIDE SETS
Can you get a refill from a different lash artist?
Potentially, but outside work must be evaluated first. Angel considers extension placement, isolation, adhesive buildup, retention, natural lash health and the existing lash mapping. We evaluate first. Not every outside set can or should be filled.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Lash refill FAQs
How often should I get eyelash extensions refilled?
Most clients schedule lash refills approximately every 2–3 weeks, although natural shedding, retention, lifestyle and desired fullness affect timing.
Can I wait 4 weeks for a lash refill?
Sometimes, but after four weeks many clients may have too few properly applied extensions remaining for a normal refill and may need a new full set.
How do I know if I need a refill or new full set?
If enough properly applied extensions remain and the shape can reasonably be restored, a refill may work. If the set is extremely sparse, very grown out or otherwise unsuitable for a refill, a new set may be recommended.
Can another lash artist fill my extensions?
Potentially. Existing work should first be evaluated for placement, isolation, retention and natural lash health.
How long does a lash refill last?
Many clients return approximately every 2–3 weeks, but retention varies.
